Successful Conclusion of the 29th International Conference

From February 19 to 22, 2025, the 29th International Scientific-Expert Conference "Information Technologies" (IT 2025) was held in Žabljak, bringing together over 200 participants from more than 20 countries. This year's conference was organized by the University of Montenegro – Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the University of Donja Gorica – Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies, the IT Society of Montenegro, the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Organizational Sciences, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Association and IEEE Section for Serbia and Montenegro, FIVE Group, and the company Čikom from Podgorica, with full support from the Montenegrin National Competence Center for High-Performance Computing - EuroCC2/EuroCC4SEE.

The 29th Conference was officially opened with sessions dedicated to the presentation of scientific papers, where researchers from various fields of information technology presented the latest results of their research. During the first day, a total of four sessions were held, two of which were conducted live – in the conference rooms of the 'Žabljak' hotel and the 'Gorske oči' hotel – while the remaining two were organized in a virtual format. Within the sessions, papers were presented in the field of software engineering, covering MLOps tools, automation in cloud environments, database optimization, user interface validation, and the application of computational intelligence techniques for similarity modeling.

The plenary part of the program was dedicated to disseminating research results from projects such as EuroCC2, EuroCC4SEE, TRACEWINDU, AI AGE, NEST4WB, FishEUTrust, Danube DNA, MontEDIH, DERHE, GenAI HPC4WB, COMMECT, and EUREKA.

Special attention during the activities on the second and third days was focused on the EuroCC2/EuroCC4SEE workshop and regional cooperation. The workshop brought together students, researchers, and experts in the field of high-performance computing. The first part of the workshop was dedicated to innovations, technical migration strategies, and competency development, while the second part facilitated consultations with experts and networking opportunities for academic and industrial partners through a roundtable discussion. Representatives from NCCs in Turkey, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia contributed valuable experiences in engaging the industry, involving small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as developing PoC/use cases in various sectors, including digital commerce, social network simulations, bioinformatics, large language models, and climate/weather forecasting. In addition to the workshop and panel session, EUROCC4SEE also held a working meeting where representatives of the national competence centers (NCC) from Montenegro, North Macedonia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia analyzed current challenges and opportunities for enhancing cooperation.

The conference concluded with the panel discussion "ICT Future from the Present," where industry experts, including representatives from IDC, Siemens, and Yettel, along with members of the academic community, discussed future technological challenges and opportunities in the ICT sector.

Once again, the IT 2025 Conference confirmed its role as a key platform for knowledge exchange and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, paving the way for new partnerships and innovations in the field of information technologies.
